TOILETS SET TO REOPEN

Public toilets damaged by a mystery ‘explosion’ late on Saturday evening are being repaired and should be open by Thursday.

The toilets in Park Street, Lydd, are currently closed while Shepway District Council carries out repairs and makes the building safe.  It is hoped the ladies’ and gentlemen’s toilets will be reopened by Thursday while more significant work is carried out to the disabled toilet, which took the full force of the explosion. A temporary disabled toilet will be delivered on Thursday.

Kent Police are investigating. Anyone who has any information is asked to contact the police by calling 01843 222 289 quoting reference ZY/033116/16. Alternatively contact Kent Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111. Police are particularly keen to hear from any young people from Lydd who may know who was involved.
