As well as the Guildhall, which is a grade 2 listed building, Lydd Town Council is responsible for the Memorial Gardens in Park Street, the Manor Road Pavilion and the Main Rype, The Banks Sports Ground and the exterior of the Banks Pavilion. We also own two garages which are used to store the Groundsman’s equipment and the Allotments Gardens at Dungeness Road. The Town Council carry out the administration for the Allotments and collect the rents and the Allotment Association Management Team has responsibility for the on-site maintenance and issuing the plots to new tenants.
Amongst the Town Councils other assets are the Mayor’s Regalia and Mace, horse drawn bus and fire engine, paintings and artworks which hang in the Chamber, boundary signs, benches and noticeboards.
The Parish of Lydd includes Lydd Town, Lydd on Sea, Dungeness and part of Greatstone. We have 16 councillors which includes the Town Mayor and Deputy Mayor.
Lydd Town Council is a Corporate Member of the Confederation of the Cinque Ports.
